Description

A flaw was found in glibc, which could lead to a denial of service. A remote attacker could provide specially crafted text to an application that converts data using the SHIFT_JISX0213 to UCS-4 conversion state. This crafted input can cause the application to enter a non-progressing loop, consuming excessive resources and rendering the application unresponsive. This ultimately results in a denial of service for affected systems.
